School Consultation

The Monarch Program is available to conduct on-site individual student consultations, or can assist school systems in a programmatic consultation for their students with autism spectrum disorders. Consultations can be requested by school systems or by the family of the individual student. A concluding report, including detailed recommendations follows the consultation.

Consultations can be requested for a variety of reasons, including assistance in determining Autism eligibility, behavior outbursts, academic difficulties, inappropriate social skills, transition issues, or for an additional opinion to provide updated recommendations. Consultations can be done both in public or private school settings.

Those requesting a school consultation should contact us for the school consultation contract. Once discussed and contracted for, the Emory Autism Center consultants will need the following information at least 2 weeks prior to the consultation:

  • Current IEP
  • Latest psychological report
  • Behavioral notes or incident reports
  • Behavior data collection
  • List of current concerns
  • Teacher observations
  • Names of principal, teachers and/or school contact person
  • Directions and phone number to school
  • Scheduled date of consultation should be coordinated with MONARCH Staff
