Awards

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences acknowledges the outstanding contributions of individual faculty members each year through an awards program. Awards are available for excellence in mentoring; clinical practice; service; science; and diversity, equity, and inclusion. There is also an annual award to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of an adjunct faculty member.

Mentoring Award: Research – Recognizes a faculty member who has served as an outstanding mentor to departmental faculty or trainees in the research domain.

Mentoring Award: Service and Education – Recognizes a faculty member who has served as an outstanding mentor to departmental faculty or trainees in the service and/or educational domain(s).

Distinguished Clinician Award - Recognizes a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in clinical care.

Distinguished Service Award - Recognizes, two faculty members, one who has demonstrated outstanding institutional and regional service, and the other who has demonstrated outstanding national or international service.

Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award - Recognizes two faculty members (one senior faculty member, one junior faculty member) who have contributed significantly to the scholarly literature and the advancement of science within the field of psychiatry and behavioral sciences.

Nadine J. Kaslow Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award – Recognizes one faculty member each year who makes tangible and consistent contributions that ensure that our department’s climate is inclusive and equitable.

Distinguished Adjunct Faculty Member Award - Recognizes an adjunct faculty who has demonstrated excellence in supervision, teaching, mentoring, and/or collaboration with trainees in activities related to service, scholarship, and/or education and/or excellence with regard to their professional service and leadership as related to the department.
