Patrick is a community psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. He is the site-primary investigator for the ACES Project and the RAISE Project, both NIMH-funded research projects based at Grady. He and his team are investigating environmental factors such as trauma and cannabis use that hasten the onset of first-episode psychosis and influence symptomatology. He also serves curriculum chair and faculty member for the Emory Psychoanalytic Institute were he lectures on a variety of topics including psychopathology, gender and sexuality, and object relations.
He is currently part-time faculty while he and his partner raise their beautiful baby boy.
