Biography

Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Hammons, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked for the Veterans Health System since 2009. Her area of clinical focus broadly includes health psychology, and she has several years of experience developing and providing behavioral health interventions for individuals with chronic pain. As the Team Lead for the Empower Veterans Program at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, Dr. Hammons is responsible for developing their behavioral health programming and mentoring program dissemination within the Veterans Health System. She is involved in veteran-focused research and program evaluation and has presented on these topics at national and regional conferences.  Through her involvement with Emory University, Dr. Hammons focuses on training and mentoring Emory students, committee participation, and research collaboration.
