Dr. Wingo received her medical degree and residency training from Emory University School of Medicine.  Subsequently, she completed a Master of Science in Clinical Research program also at Emory. 

As a Board-Certified psychiatrist, Dr. Wingo sees patients at the Atlanta VAMC outpatient clinic.  Additionally, Dr. Wingo engages in research and collaborates with several investigators, including Kerry Ressler, MD, PhD, Ross Baldessarini, M.D., Greg Gibson, Ph.D., Bekh Bradley, Ph.D., and Michael Windle, Ph.D.

Dr. Wingo’s research focuses on: a) the phenomenology and genetics of psychological resilience, and b) combining genetics and gene expression information to elucidate biological mechanisms underlying resiliency and mood and anxiety disorders.

Dr. Wingo has received funding from the American Psychiatric Association, the Brain and Behavior Foundation (formerly NARSAD), and the Veterans Affairs Research and Development.
